There are too many blogs out there.
Over a billion.
But even with there being one too many blogs…
Is it even worth spending any time on it?
We looked at data from over 1 million websites to answer that question.
Let’s first start with some stats:
A website with a blog has 75.29% more organic search traffic.
A website with a blog has 11.41% more repeat visitors.
A website with a blog generates 48.43% more backlinks.
A website with a blog receives 194.58% more organic social traffic.
A website with a blog has a higher time on site by 39 seconds.
A website with a blog has 292.79% more brand queries.
A website with a blog has a higher conversion rate by 8.16%.
Blogging is time-consuming and competitive.
But it doesn’t mean you still can’t get more traffic and sales by having a blog.
It’s worth the effort.

What I learned today @DigitalOlympus #DOXonference2024 from top-SEOs like Kevin Indig, Aleyda Solis, and Carrie Rose:
- Content Intelligence tools will only get you to parity. And paity or incremental gain is not enough in 2024 - Skyscraper Technique is sooo 2016. What you need today to outperform cometitors in SEO is original research (=information gain), superior UX, shorter Time-To-Result (=often *lower* wordcount BUT without information loss! + custom graphics to visualize concepts in a bite-sized form),
- Backlinks still matter - and now we know a lot more about *which* matter more than others. To get the most out of your backlinks, you need to get them from trending stories. Monitor spikes in kw trends and jump the wagon by creating a compelling story tapping into the trend and getting the attention.
- There are 3 types of AI overviews, impacting ctr to a different extent. Being featured in AI Overview has a negative impact on clicks, whether the source is provided or not. But *not* being featured in AI overview where it appears has an even worse impact. Try to reverse engineer what the featured pages are doing (e.g. with the help of e.g. https://ziptie.dev/).

Anyone fancy a relaxing bath with a toaster, sure to unwind you forever? While we’re making fun of the meme-worthy content here, how many really bad casualties will it take for Google to discontinue this harmful experiment, that btw. flies in the face of its Helpful Content Update, let alone the Medic? Cambridge Analytica pales compared to this or am I just being very European here? 😬

Keyword cannibalism: What's your take on multiple pages ranking for the same keywords
Neil Patel
Digital marketing is very important because it connects a business with its consumers when they are on the internet, & is effective in all industries. It connects businesses with perfect clients when they are on Google through SEO & PPC, on social networks with social networks marketing, & through email with email marketing

Read my comment below. I think we need to change our mindset as SEO's...I loved your article and I would make the following comment. I think our mindset as 'SEO's' needs to change from "going after the same keyword" to "discovering WHO our audience is". We need to shift away from 'targeting' and towards being servant leaders. The truth is we might 'rank' for 'keywords' we didn't even know existed if our focus is on writing great content that appeals to our 'AVATAR'. Remember wired vs. tired?
Targeting keywords, ranking, page 1 (which does not exist anymore) = Tired
Optimizing your content for humans by using AI to make it even better than the original = Wired

I agree with Neil Patel.
Brand building isn't a one to two-day process. It may take decades of hard work, dedication, and marketing strategies.
I personally prefer building one brand business instead of building multiple businesses.
